Brings me such joy to help coordinate an event that brings people together

1:6 scale is an amazing thing

Spring colors. How could they be anything but perfect?

I'm really lucky to live so close to such a beautiful place back home. And also lucky that the city has recognized the proper way to preserve this history.

I think I'm gonna be making more beans. So simple and delicious. They're honestly made more delicious by the fact that they're so simple. Feels amazing that something so cheap could be so good for you. And they're vegan! Bean-based meals are unapologetically and often accidentally vegan.

Excellent surrealism exhibit at the PMA. They had a couple pieces (not pictured below) from Remedios Varo that I first saw in Mexico City, it was very surprising to see them again in a different museum since paintings usually stay put. Some would say it was surreal.

Homebuilt knitting machine. Watching it go around and around with such intricacy and precision is absolutely entrancing

One of the best parts of fall/winter is that in the afternoons, the sunlight hits the living room windows just so

Moved my cactus to the studio where it'll get much more light. Brings me such joy to see it soaking up rays

Another lovely bike ride, I gotta spend more time in Manayunk

Was just biking to the grocery and this little guy stopped me in my wheels

Amazing nook at the Calder Gardens. Also one of the best museum buildings I've ever been to. I usually don't feel like I engage with architecture particularly deeply but this building spoke to me.

Backyard evening

Golden grass on a late afternoon

The sky's been putting on quite a show for the last couple days. So close you can almost touch it

Lovely views of the Steel City from the plane window. Turns out there's a whole world to see

I feel that we've become desensitized to the miracles of modern times. We've created such an amazing world for ourselves because of past frustrations but as soon as we solve a problem we forget it ever existed. For thousands of years people looked to the skies and wished they could fly like birds, and we've accomplished that dream. And yet, people close their windows on airplanes and choose to view this grand opportunity to look down at our planet and experience a miracle as merely a chore to get through. No wonder people feel left behind by technology when they choose to experience the marvel of flight as bored cargo.

The backyard has been bringing me a lot of joy recently. Great to see it blowing up with greenery.

Such a beautiful cemetery. Very compelling to try and figure out people's lives through a small handful of births and deaths.

Quite a lovely scene I encountered on an evening stroll. Stopped and watched for a bit

There's nothing quite like the Academy of Sciences.

Look me in the eyes and try to tell me that San Francisco isn't the most beautiful city in the world

It's a great day to be a tree clothed in ivy

I absolutely love the chance to interact with something so old. This archway is from the 1200s. To be able to walk through and touch it is really special. I'm sure people living in the Old World have gotten desensitized to the experience but for me it's still fresh.

There's really nothing like light shining through leaves. Probably my favorite color, but it's impossible to capture and apply to something else. Ephemeral.

Little farewell tour with the Bryn Mawr pals

Look at how beautiful

I've spent the last 6 months being glad it's not summer because I remember it as being oppresively hot and sweaty, but I was overlooking how nice it is to just lounge around in greenery. Have really had a splendid last few days being outside.

I found an alternate route for my morning walk to class. A little longer but the street's much quieter and the morning light through the leaves is always so nice.

Went for a lovely walk in the park. Beautiful colors and freakishly warm. I always like when seasons have a last hurrah

At the Barnes the art isn't laid out by style or any formal arrangement, makes it possible to easily compare very different styles because they're right next to each other. It feels much less stuffy than most museums which I enjoy. Free entry for art students and $5 entry for all students is also nice and should be followed by all museums

Went to the Rodin Museum. Lots of amazing sculpture, and I absolutely love that most were originally in clay. This piece doesn't really show the clay as a material but I enjoy it a lot. His bust of Victor Hugo is amazing, the clay really brings it to life. Also Rodin lived much more recently than I imagined, 1840-1917. So many unbelievable artists in the world

Wedding weekend by the lake!! What's not to like?

I think a lot about how someone from the olden days would feel if they were dropped into the world today. I reckon the size of buildings would be one of the most shocking things to them. At 481ft the Pyramid of Giza was the tallest structure in the world for 3800 years. This building in downtown Philly is 792ft tall and it's only the FIFTH tallest building in the CITY. I quite like being around giant buildings and I'm lucky to be alive at the right time to see them. Being around massive anything is really enjoyable.

Always such a good feeling to get photos back and really like how they turned out

So many beautiful cathedrals in Dublin. I really feel like the main purpose of religious architecture should be to help you appreciate the splendor of God. Besides their beauty cathedrals are also so interesting for historical reasons, it's absolutely stunning to be able to stand inside the accomplishments of the people before me.

Was captivated by this gorgeous room at the National Gallery. Feels rare to be in such a large indoor space with no artificial lighting

Jumped into the Irish sea. So fun especially because the water was frigid and choppy. The shock of cold water and then coming to the surface to see the waves roll all around me was amazing.

The fact that Philly isn't all super developed and refined makes it feel like a real city. There's overlapping history all over the place

I really love the murals all over Philly. Adds so much character to the city and are just beautiful to stumble upon

There's a cute little park near my new place that has many cats roaming around and they're all so friendly. I met James, who maintains the park. He lives across the street and all the cats are his. The land used to be an abandoned playground but he moved all the soil in and nurses all the plants. Now it's a green space protected from development. It's such a great use of space in the city and he clearly cares a lot about the park and the cats. He's named all the cats already but I named this one Goose.

These leaves have such dark rich veins. Very cool to be able to see their structure more clearly than usual.

Had the opportunity to eat some tomatoes straight off the vine. Fruit never tastes as good as when you pick it yourself. Warmed by the sun. Makes me want to start a little garden

Were we turned away from 3 (read: three) Smithsonian museums? yes. Am I gonna let that stop me from loving this microcline in the natural history museum? absolutely not. look at that gorgeous blue!

Street lamp with a hat!

Every time I go to this bookstore i'm overwhelmed with the amount of information that's out there and how little I'll ever be able to absorb.

Construction of the wooden building continues. It's very beautiful to see wood being used in such a massive project, makes me wonder what the additional challenges are in using wood instead of steel. Must lead to a lower carbon footprint though.

Park was so lively today! Rittenhouse Square is maybe the only park I've been to that has a proper abundance of benches.

Went to the Mütter Museum today. Very interesting and really makes me appreciate being able to move fully and without pain. Health is a blessing. They also have a nice garden with medicinal plants.

This Bank of America is a very beautful building. such intricacies. it reminds me almost of islamic architecture with the fine details and lovely blue accents

Fun to see a little minifigure swimming in the lime green blocks. wonder if it's more like a ball pit or flesh pit to them

It's really amazing that it's possible to build things this large. It doesn't even look like it should be able to support its own weight. I'm a fan of any bridge that trains go across

Hung out in the creek all day with old and new friends, perfect on a hot day.

7/11 has never looked this good. I love clouds
